Job description
At Neal's Yard Remedies, our retail, distribution and ecommerce operations run on a connected web of systems NetSuite, Shopify, Snowflake, and more - stitched together by data pipelines and integrations that need to be reliable, fast, and trustworthy. We're looking for a Senior Data & Integration Engineer to help us own and evolve that landscape.
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and systems integration. You'll be supporting ERP integrations and understanding how our order, inventory and financial data flows as well as building the pipelines that move that data into Snowflake for reporting and analytics. You'll be hands-on with EDI integrations and our iPaaS platform (Jitterbit), keeping critical data exchanges with partners, warehouses and trading platforms running smoothly. And because this data underpins real business decisions, you'll spend as much time talking to people as you do writing code working directly with internal teams like finance, supply chain and operations, as well as external trading partners, EDI counterparties and integration/software vendors, managing expectations, resolving issues, and explaining technical constraints in plain English to a range of audiences.
What you'll be doing:
- Building and maintaining data pipelines from NetSuite into Snowflake, using SQL (and dbt) for transformation
- Supporting and troubleshooting EDI integrations and data exchange processes with trading partners
- Developing and maintaining integrations via Jitterbit (or similar iPaaS tools) across NetSuite, Shopify and other platforms
- Writing advanced SQL to turn raw data into trusted, reportable datasets that teams actually use
- Supporting FTP/SFTP-based file transfers and configuration
- Acting as the technical point of contact for stakeholders across the business, gathering requirements from internal teams and managing relationships with external EDI trading partners and integration vendors.
- Running or contributing to project delivery: scoping integration work, setting realistic timelines, and keeping both internal stakeholders and external partners aligned and informed
- Improving documentation, monitoring and resilience across our integration landscape, so issues get caught before they become business problems
- Contributing to Shopify integration and wider ecommerce data work
What you'll bring:
- Strong hands-on SQL skills in a production environment
- Experience with Snowflake (or a comparable cloud data warehouse)
- Experience with NetSuite, ideally including SuiteQL, or supporting ERP data flows
- Experience with EDI integrations and data exchange processes
- Experience with Jitterbit or a comparable iPaaS platform (Boomi, Celigo, MuleSoft, etc.)
- Comfort working with FTP/SFTP protocols and file transfer configuration
- Experience supporting live, business-critical integration platforms
- Proven stakeholder management, both internal (cross-functional teams) and external (trading partners, vendors) — comfortable running requirements conversations, pushing back constructively, and resolving issues diplomatically under pressure
- Bonus: dbt experience, WMS integration exposure, Shopify/ecommerce systems knowledge, JavaScript/HTML
You'll thrive here if you:
- Enjoy being the person who makes complex systems talk to each other reliably
- Are as comfortable negotiating with an external vendor as you are in an internal stakeholder meeting
- Can hold your ground on technical trade-offs while still bringing people with you
- Like ownership — you'll have real freedom to shape how our data infrastructure evolves
- Want to work somewhere the impact of your work is visible across the whole business
What you'll get:
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Company pension
- Flexible working
- Generous employee discount
- Long service benefits
- Paid community days
- Employee Assistance Programme
