An opportunity has arisen at St Mary's School in Horam, East Sussex part of The Sabden Multi Academy Trust. The school requires a Site Manager to work 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday (hours to be agreed however a split shift would be preferable). The post is 52 weeks per year with a holiday entitlement of 25 days, which must be taken during the school holidays.
The position is to start as soon as possible and applicants must have relevant qualifications and/or experience in specialist building maintenance work in one or more areas e.g. carpentry, plastering, glazing, plumbing, electricity etc. They should also have an understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment.
It is important to have the ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that may arise. To provide high quality supervision, training and support to the assistant caretaker and cleaning staff. To be able to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. Have a willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the school to further knowledge. To have good ICT skills for reporting, contacting contractors, accessing the school and maintaining records.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working within an enviroment for school pupils.
