About the Role

Teaching Assistant 2 (with MDSA duties) required from September 2017

Fletching CE Primary School is looking for a new member of staff to add to their support staff team. You will be working with the wonderful pupils in our Early Years and KS1 class. We are looking for a candidate to join our welcoming and friendly school, who is highly motivated, energetic, with the ability to work alone and as part of a team. The hours will be:

Teaching Assistant 2: 27.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 12:00, 1.15 - 3.15, at SS grade 3)

Midday Supervisory Assistant: Between 3 to 5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 1:15, at SS grade 1)

TA Role: You should have the skills and abilities necessary for; providing pupil targeted and classroom support; preparing resources and liaising effectively with colleagues, parents and outside agencies; flexible and able to use your own initiative. The post holder will work closely alongside the class teacher and other support staff as part of our supportive and enthusiastic team.

MDSA Role: The successful candidate will work during the lunchtime period leading and promoting playground games and social activity. You will need to be creative and able to work on your own initiative. Experience of working and playing with young children is desirable.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
