Practice Manager - Special Guardianship and Adoption Support Team

We are looking for a clear thinking, creative social work manager to work as part of the Special Guardianship and Adoption Support management team. Passionate about making a difference, you will be responsible for motivating and leading a small group of social workers and other staff, providing expert supervision, mentoring /coaching and supporting the development of reflective and relationship based practice. You will oversee needs led social work practice with families for children who are placed with adopters and special guardians, ensuring clarity of role and accountability.

With experienced people around you and a senior leadership team backing you up, you’ll be in an environment in which you can focus on real social work and the child’s journey. We’re talking manageable caseloads, good access to administrative support and reflective supervision. Add excellent training including five guaranteed days of CPD per year, and it’s a winning formula.

The Special Guardianship and Adoption Support Team is a countywide service, undertaking needs led assessment, multi-agency liaison and direct work with adoptive and special guardianship families to improve outcomes for the children in their care.
For further information or an informal discussion about this role, please contact Wendy Wood, Group Manager

You will also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

To apply, please upload your CV detailing your education and employment history, making sure you give reasons for leaving all jobs and explain any gaps in employment history. We’d also like a written statement about what makes you a great social worker/social work manager, how you meet the key skills and what you can bring in relation to the role.

You also need to let us know details of your referees and HCPC registration details.

We look forward to hearing from you.
