Job: Trainee Field Sales Executive


Hours: 35 hours, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Duration: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Remuneration: £15,000 Basic (£18-20k OTE in first year) + Company Car

Are you a keen, ambitious, passionate individual looking for a dynamic, market leader to offer you a comprehensive sales training opportunity for a role with fantastic earning potential? Our client is offering the right person a full training scheme with a company car. You WILL RECEIVE FULL PRODUCT AND SALES TRAINING, AND THERE WILL BE NO TARGETS IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS although you will be able to earn commission from day one. After this, you will be introduced as a Sales Account manager (looking after existing business accounts) before becoming a fully qualified field sales executive by the end of your first year. The office you would be based in has a small friendly, growing team.

There is a great team already in place to work with and they have a professional but relaxed atmosphere. They encourage you to engage socially and provide 2 fully paid staff parties per year (one in the winter and one in the summer) to reward you for your hard work and build team rapport.


In the first year you should expect to earn realistic On Target Earnings (OTE) of between £18-20k, but after this the earning potential is significantly greater.


Essential Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Proactive, flexible approach to work
• Research/Data mining to identify new customer prospects
• Be willing to make cold telephone calls
• Be willing to visit new business prospects for business meetings
• Must be very committed to the job from day one.
• Resilient personality, and the ability to brush off negative responses without taking it personally.
• Ability to work to targets and deadlines
• Ability to thrive under pressure
• Previous experience of Insurance, Taxi or Car Rental/Sales sectors is preferred, but not essential.
• Previous Sales experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to use track changes, and/or other comparison software as appropriate.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Be passionate about the service you are selling and promote it actively at all times.
• Ability to maintain a professional and discrete attitude when dealing with issues of a sensitive and strictly confidential nature.
Must be a driver but use of company car is provided

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Attend training and weekly sales meetings

• Research new business opportunities
• Make Cold Sales Calls after graduating to Field Sales Role (after your training and account management period is complete)
• Attend client and New Business Visits/Meetings
• Building client relationships to ensure continuing ongoing business moving forward
• Hit or exceed targets after 6 month training period has finished.
