Credit Control Manager
Crawley, West Sussex
Salary: £30,000-33,000 (negotiable) + annual bonus
Established entrepreneurial business based in Crawley requires an experienced, capable Credit Control professional to manage their Credit Control function. This manufacturing client has been a leader within the UK industry since its conception and is still at the forefront of product development. Reporting to the qualified Finance Director, the successful candidate will oversee and develop a medium sized Credit Control team and lead by example in a best practice environment.
About the role:
- Effective cash collections and overseeing customer query re
- Liaising with all relevant departments on customer matters.
- Timely posting of cash, particularly around month end.
- Visiting customer premises to deal with specific queries where necessary.
- Analysing credit applications and determining customer credit risk and sales limits.
- Reviewing and improving Credit Control procedures for the benefit of the business.
- Ensuring exemplary customer service is maintained.
- Keeping accurate and timely customer credit files to support the current credit limit and insurance as relevant and ensure that these files and limits are reviewed at least annually.
- Lead the day to day company interaction with the credit insurers.
- Develop reporting suites to ensure all relevant members of both finance and the wider business are updated as appropriate on all key debtor and debit note issues.
- Assisting in the preparation of accurate cash flow forecasts.
- Overseeing and driving staff development, including appraisals and performance metrics.
- Review and improve the customer return and debit note resolution process.
- Play an active role in the up-coming new system implementation and help ensure a smooth transition.
About you:
- You will be an experienced and confident Credit Controller currently in a Senior Credit Controller or Supervisor role.
- You will be able to deal with a large customer ledger in a busy transactional environment and chase debt efficiently and effectively.
- You must have strong organisational skills and be both a results and customer focused individual.
- You will display initiative, drive, and excellent people skills and feel able to lead by example.
- Manufacturing sector experience would be an advantage.
- Good IT skills including experience of a recognised ERP software and Excel competency.
