We aim, through the ECS, to work with children, families, early years and childcare settings and partner organisations to help ensure that every child is supported to achieve his or her potential. These early years are when the foundations for future mental health, emotional well-being, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place. The home surroundings, family life and parenting are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future.
Children and Family Centres play a key role in improving the lives of children and families in West Sussex and in reducing the inequalities in outcomes between the most disadvantaged children and the rest. This requires close partnership working and effective multi-agency teams working across more than one site.
Centres provide all families with access to high quality early years provision, health and other family support services. The main purpose of each centre is to improve the outcomes for children and their readiness for school, with a particular focus on the most disadvantaged.
To work as part of the management team to contribute towards the development and delivery of services in line with the aims and objectives of the service.
To promote partnership working with a range of stakeholders and ensure integrated working practices.
