We aim, through our Early Childhood Service (ECS) to work with children, families, early years and childcare settings and partner organisation to help ensure that every child is supported to achieve his or her potential. These early years are when the foundations for future mental health, emotional control, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place. The home surroundings, family life and parenting are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future. The County council provides integrated and coordinated education and social care services for children pre-birth to 19 years of age and their families.

You will provide leadership in early years education, development, and childcare provision, giving professional support to the area team and ensuring that area priorities are met. You will lead and implement projects and initiatives to improve children’s outcomes and ensure high quality inclusive practice in childcare, education, family support and related provision for children aged 0-18.

You will support the wider workforce to develop and use relevant skills and knowledge to improve outcomes for children. You will provide direction and leadership for the delivery of comprehensive integrated services, working as part of an integrated early childhood team, and with other partners and service users, making effective and efficient use of available resources and influencing activities.
