This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Police, the Borough Council and Health Services in Crawley to help put in place effective care and support for people with mental health issues who are involved in neighbour disputes or anti-social behaviour. The role also involves working with the Housing Options Team at the Council to assess the mental health needs of individuals to support homelessness applications. It’s a new partnership role that would suit an experienced social worker, mental health worker, psychiatric nurse or occupational therapist. Duties will include:-
• Supporting the police and Council’s anti-social behaviour case workers to identify people with mental health issues and help address behavioural problems
• Providing assertive outreach support to engage disengaged or undiagnosed individuals and linking them into appropriate mental health services
• Helping to promote a holistic approach to care and support planning at case reviews which balances the needs of individuals and those of the wider community.
Working closely with teams across different organisations, the post holder will be expected to build knowledge and understanding around mental health and the services available locally to ensure individuals with mental health issues are better supported in the future.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively, manage complex cases with competing demands, hold agencies to account, as well as develop and implement practical solutions to deliver positive outcomes for customers.
