We are looking for a Night Care Assistant to support the children and young people during the night at High Trees. Our service in Crawley is a six bedded, mixed gender unit which provides high quality day care and overnight short breaks for children and young people with learning disabilities. As well as providing a break for the young person and their family, we aim to provide a positive, stimulating and fun environment where children and young people have the opportunities to try new experiences and activities. Part of our work is also to support these children and young people to improve their communication skills and manage their challenging behaviour. Our location in a suburb of Crawley means we maintain a presence in the local community as well as having easy access to public transport and local shop and leisure facilities. You will closely monitor and take care of our customers’ needs during the night which may include personal care or medical needs. You may also be required to manage some challenging behaviour with support from the on call sleep in officer, and will take care of the unit during night time hours. You will need experience of working with children. Experience of working with children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour would be an advantage.
