We are looking for a qualified librarian or someone with similar demonstrable experience for this exciting opportunity within the Children’s Team. Based at Crawley library you will be responsible for assisting with service delivery there and overseeing services at a number of other libraries, including Broadfield, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Midhurst and Petworth.

The role involves co-ordinating all aspects of services to children & young people at a local level, including Bookstart and rhyme times, outreach with preschools, schools and Children & Family centres, the annual Summer Reading Challenge and on-going stock collection management. You will be required to work closely with the local library managers and frontline staff. There will also be opportunities to contribute to, and on occasions lead on, projects with a countywide impact.

This is an active role and some lifting will be required. The successful candidate will be required to travel independently to a number of libraries and community settings, including in some rural locations.

Salary £20,849 - £22,937 plus Crawley Weighting
