The Young People’s Service has a great opportunity available for a number of permanent part time Youth Support Workers within their Northern and Southern teams.

We are looking for passionate and energetic Youth Support Workers, an NVQ 2 qualification (or equivalent) and the wiliness to train to NVQ level 3 in Youth Work, to support the development and delivery of targeted youth work programmes in response to the needs of young people aged 11 – 25 (our priority group is 13 – 19).

Your main role will be to assist Youth Workers in the delivery of innovative youth work programmes that promote social inclusion, develop youth work responses and support vulnerable groups of young people; you will need to ensure you work within the requirements of Young People’s Service Equal Opportunities Policies locally, in particular the needs of minority ethnic communities, young people with learning difficulties and disabilities and other targeted vulnerable groups.

You will assist with aspects of administration, health and safety, maintenance of facilities and equipment as delegated by line manager and will be required to work a range of specific hours which could be day time, evening or weekend sessions; attend and participate in the planning and delivery of events and related meetings such as training events and staff team meetings.
