Job Purpose

Working in the project engineering team to deliver networking solutions for our clients. Primary role will be to act as a technical lead across multiple projects, working closely with both the client, and our project management teams.

Will have close involvement with our client base as well as working with our presales technical team to design and deploy network solutions.

Working in client offices or data centres to perform the configuration and installation of core or pilot sites.

Acting as a mentor for network engineering staff undertaking Cisco accreditation

Activities, Duties and Key Tasks

* 80% of your time will be based in the office, working on project design and deployment, with 20% working away from the office on client site installation work
* Assisting and supporting the network engineering team during project delivery
* Working with technical pre-sales team, and Head of Network Engineering to agree design, and deployment strategies
* Commissioning WAN circuits / MPLS / Ethernet / ADSL / Internet
* Configuring and deploying Cisco 800 –[please apply by clicking on the blue button on this web page] Series Routers, and Cisco ASA 5500 security appliances, and Cisco 2900 – 6500 Switches
* Documentation of WAN design, and technical handover to in house NOC for on-going support and management
* Configuring, installation, and troubleshooting Cisco hardware, with a proven track record in design of network solutions
* Commissioning of ISP based circuits, WAN and Internet
* Work within a multi-disciplinary technical team.
* Receiving and owning issues; enquiries and change requests for support from clients and prioritise these requests accordingly.
* Investigating and troubleshooting network availability and application problems and other requests for support.
* Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for all issues using the technical resources and managements and monitoring tools available.
* Perform logical and physical design activities. Design, develop, implement, tune and support network environments and equipment.

Technical Requirements

* Proven knowledge and competence of multi-site LAN & WAN environments including IP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, WiFi and Advanced Security.
* proven knowledge and competence of WANLAN technologies and BT products, including routers, security, IP clear and IP Stream circuits
* Be competent at configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco products – firewalls, routers and switches
